bigoted feminism is feminism but it’s an extremely skewed and awful version of feminism that needs to be called out and critiqued and altered. there are huge problems within the feminist movement such as racism and transphobia and transmisogyny that need to be addressed, and writing off these sort of things as “not real feminism” ignores these issues and writes off the experiences of the affected people as unimportant

GUYS I JUST FOUND FIVE VERY DEHYDRATED FERAL KITTENS

I’ve already called around and none of the local rescues have any space. None of the vets will take them as surrenders. The shelter here euthanizes all kittens under four weeks old regardless of health; these guys are about three weeks old. They’re also sick (goopy eyes and nasal discharge), and I have exactly $17 to my name (which will buy one can of powdered formula, which will probably last about a week).

If you’re in the Modesto area of California or would be willing to make a drive and can foster kittens that need around-the-clock care, please get in contact with me. I can’t keep these kittens (I’m renting), and they also can’t go back outside. Their mom had them up on top of a plywood, metal, and glass mini-greenhouse, where they were baking to death - it’s going to be in the mid-nineties or higher all next week. One of them also nearly fell from six feet up, which would have been fatal (his crying was how I found them - he got stuck between the back of the greenhouse and the wall and was dangling).

If you can’t take them but want to help, you can also donate, which will buy formula and medicine while I continue to look for an appropriate foster situation, or signal boost this post.

For questions, send me an ask.

Donations can be sent to thefirstkira@gmail.com (please note that this is not my primary email address, and therefor not a good way to contact me).

I have no idea what I’m going to do if I can’t find a foster home for these kittens, but I’m hoping that if I can buy some time I’ll be able to find a rescue or an individual foster situation.

Signal boost!!!! Please help in any way you can, Jesse does so much for cats and I know he’ll do anything he can to take care of these babies or find them homes or fosters.

GAH!!!! I CANT FUCKING RESIST THIS KIND OF SHIZ!!!!!

Gale didn’t just not end up with Katniss though he got completely cut out of her life. They were best friends and depended on each other to keep their families alive.

I don’t care if you don’t like Gale or what but don’t tell me that’s not fucking tragic as hell. Especially since we never find out what happened to Gale. His story just stops after we find out he goes to live in Two, and as far as we know he never gets to see his best friend again.

In grade 8 I really hated this girl so I collected the sugar from my pack of sour patch kids and gave it to her saying its cocaine and she actually  snorted it and at recess she pretended she was high and she was called crack whore for the rest of the year. Now she does real crack and blames me saying I got her addicted. She still doesnt know it was just sugar

If you are reading this, thank this woman. Her name is Grace Hopper, and she is one of the most under appreciated computer scientists ever. You think Gates and Jobs were cool? THIS WOMAN WORKED ON COMPUTERS WHEN THEY TOOK UP ROOMS. She invented the first compiler, which is a program that translates a computer language like Java or C++ into machine code, called assembly, that can be read by a processor. Every single program you use, every OS and server, was made possible by her first compiler.

Spread the word! (Although I’ll bet there are still some dudebros out there who’ll claim she’s a “fake geek”…)

Favorite fact: She coined the term “debugging” when they had to remove an moth (an actual, living moth) that had gotten trapped in the Mark II computer at Harvard University in 1947. While referring to glitches as bugs existed before, she brought the term into popularity.

She also got the trend of personal computers going with her suggestion to the DoD to use more smaller units rather than one big one.

Please explain to me why I never knew about her before?

if i had a dollar…

If I had a brick

sorry if I’m off topic but I’m so sick of people characterizing violent crime as “musta been mental illness” it throws us mentally ill people under the bus by perpetuating the stereotype that we’re dangerous

cant we just say there was something going on with that one guy?

ur totally right, many men don’t react violently when faced with rejection.

it was only this one guy.

it’s the year of our lord 2014 and we’re still pretending men reacting violently to women rejecting their advances isn’t the norm. it may not always be as out-right as a stabbing but the times random, strange men have called me a bitch/ugly cunt/other innumerable names for telling them to fuck off when they catcall or get in my physical space could probably fill a whole day in minutes.

I get tired of telling men this: just because it wasn’t you who did it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. This is just sad.
